A few months back, the moguls at Microsoft bought social network LinkedIn, in a deal that was the largest ever cash purchase of any tech business.
With almost half a billion members and two users joining every second, LinkedIn continues to be the No. 1 social channel for recruiters, with many of us using our Recruiter Licences every day.
But are you doing it right? You may think you’re LinkedIn smart, but are you using some of its most ingenious features?
Here are 3 ways that LinkedIn can save you time and energy at work and help you become a master of your market:
1) Get Your Pipelines Coming In Automatically
If you’re not using LinkedIn’s “saved search” option - you should be. Spend time setting this up and the candidates will come to you. For example, if you hire Data Analysts simply select similar job titles e.g. Data Scientist or Econometrician, plus your location and it’ll email you with new candidates that meet your criteria.
2) Prioritise Your Time
The new Open Candidates feature allows you to see who is open to new work opportunities on LinkedIn - whether that be full-time, part-time or freelance. You can even set up notifications to let you know when a candidate in your market has changed their status.
3) Get To Know Your Market
Want to give your clients added value? Sharing knowledge from the market is the best way to do it and LinkedIn Insights gives you everything you need. It can help you understand the size of your market and the different movements and patterns in a particular company or field.
Huge amounts of data are available at your fingertips on LinkedIn, and these valuable insights can help you develop expertise in your area and offer solutions to client problems.
Peter Andronov a Senior Account Director at LinkedIn, with over 10 years of experience as a recruiter, says these changes are great news for the industry.
He said: "LinkedIn Recruiter helps talent acquisition professionals be more efficient and effective with their time and hire the best talent faster. It's intuitive search tools give recruiters the ability to quickly narrow down shortlists of candidates from LinkedIn's network of more than 467 million professionals worldwide."
